Dauphin

Dauphin is known as the "City of Sunshine". Located just north of Riding Mountain National Park, Dauphin is a community of festivals, sport, outdoor adventure, arts and culture. Dauphin is the largest centre within Mountain View School Division and is home to seven schools.
 
 
Dauphin Regional Comprehensive Secondary School
 
The Dauphin Regional Comprehensive Secondary School is the largest high school within the division. The student population is comprised of students from Dauphin and surrounding feeder communities. Language courses in both English and French Immersion are offered. In addition to a wide range of academic courses, the DRCSS offers courses in music and drama, a Health Care Aide dual credit program, and vocational programming in the areas of:

Mackenzie Middle School
 
Mackenzie Middle School offers language courses in English, French Immersion, and Ukrainian Bilingual. It also offers programming in band, home economics and industrial arts.
 
This school has had extensive work done in recent years, which includes significant upgrades to its vocational wing.  Built in 1927, this building was originally used for primary and secondary grades.

Smith-Jackson Ukrainian Bilingual School
 
Smith-Jackson Ukrainian Bilingual School provides instruction in the Ukrainian language to students for up to 50% of the day. Students engage in learning activities that promote and enhance the knowledge, practice, and appreciation of the Ukrainian culture.
 
The school is also home to Sadochok (a Ukrainian Nursery School) and a before and after school day care program as well.

Lt. Colonel Barker V.C. School
 
Lt. Colonel Barker V.C. School prepares its students to become good citizens by following the 3 Rs: "Be Respectful, Be Responsible and Be Ready."  Barker School recently implemented the Balanced School Day model, which organizes the school day into three instructional blocks of 100 minutes each and two nutritional/exercise breaks.
 
The school is named after William George "Billy" Barker of Dauphin, who was the most decorated war hero in the history of Canada.  Dauphin School Age Daycare is also housed in this facility.

HES is committed to supporting students to achieve high levels of academics, positive attendance, and strong leadership skills. Awards celebrations in each of these areas are held after each term.
