Career, Work & Community - High School Credits

The Career Development Initiative is a great way to gain real-world experience while exploring future career paths. The Credit for Employment program lets you earn high school credits for the job you already have! It's a great way to gain work experience, develop essential skills, and learn responsibility - all while working in your community.

 

• Age/Grade Requirement: Students must be out of Grade 10, and 16 years old
• Pre-Requirements: Student must have a Life Works credit of any level
• Hours Required: 110 hrs
• Number of Credits Available: 2 credits
• Paid Experience: Yes

The High School Apprenticeship Program (HSAP) is an on-the-job, paid, work-experience credit for high school students. The purpose of an HSAP experience is to explore and/or pursue an apprenticeable trade. • Partnership Requirements: Experience must be within a licensed trade

Students can earn a high credit for completing volunteer service. It's a great way to gain experience, develop essential skills, and learn responsibility - all while volunteering in your community.
