Bus Cancellation Notices
MVSD is excited to announce that our division is implementing a new school bus route planning and transportation management system. This software will streamline transportation requests and routing while providing significant improvements in student safety and communication to parents/guardians of registered bus students.
What's changing:
- Our public sign-up text-alert system is being discontinued immediately.
- Only parents/guardians of registered bus students will be able to access their child's bus information with the new system.
What this means for you:
- Until the new communication component is in place, text messages will be sent only to parents/guardians of registered bus students on affected routes, based on contact information entered in PowerSchool.
- All notifications for late or cancelled buses will continue to be announced on:
- Division and applicable school websites - news item and homepage alert
- MVSD Facebook
- Radio stations (Dauphin, Yorkton, Brandon)
What's next:
- When the new communication software is ready, we will implement a strategic rollout with the following phases:
- Awareness Phase (introduction of new software)
- Registration Phase (for parents/guardians of registered bus students only)
- Launch Phase (go live with notifications using new software)
