Bonjour et bienvenue  au site web de l'Ecole Macneill.  We are a French Immersion School located in Dauphin, Manitoba.  Currently there are 123 students ranging from K to Grade 6. 

    Our dynamic school offers quality and authentic French language learning to our students through a friendly, bilingual staff, a French language monitor, French library services, and a French student services program.  We also offer reading recovery, guidance, physical education, and music programs.  All subjects are taught in French with the exception of English Language Arts.  Students in Grade One to Six receive 75 minutes of English instruction a day.  The Kindergarten program is delivered in French.  Our students are provided with every opportunity to reach their full potential in Canada's two official languages, in a positive and caring environment.

    The majority of our parent community is from an English-speaking background, and they value and support the activities at our school.  Communication including newsletters, report cards and Parent Teacher Conferences are in English.  We have a very active Parent Partnership Council.  They are in the midst of a three year playground improvement project.  More information is available in the Parent section of this website.

    Who enrolls in French Immersion? ... Children whose first language is other than French, usually English, and who desire to become bilingual.
